2008
FUQUA
Chardonnay,
Vat No. 8 This Chardonnay feels clean on the pallet and has a fresh, clean finish. It goes with fish, chicken or is good to enjoy by itself. This Chardonnay is made from grapes that came from the Clarksburg AVA in California, just southwest of Sacramento. Most of this AVA's production goes to Napa Valley to be blended into their wines to add complexity. It is in stock and available at the FUQUA Winery in Dallas for $18.95.
Our 2006 Syrah is a rich, full bodied, Syrah made from grapes from the Central Coast area of California. Syrah is a Rhône variety that is used in the northern sub-regions of Rhône. Some Syrah wines have a green bell pepper component but ours does not. It is dark and rich. An incredibly food-friendly wine, Syrah strikes a balance between power and finesse. Syrah is rarely as tannic as Cabernet, but has an equally deep color and a similar degree of flavor complexity. This combination gives Syrah a food-friendliness akin to Pinot Noir's, thus Syrah can match beautifully with rich seafood dishes as well as robust meats. Goes good with red meats, spicy pizzas and herbed sauces on red meat. Silver Medal - 2010 Finger Lakes International Wine Competition, New York Bronze Medal - 2010 San Francisco International Wine Competition, California It is in stock and available at the FUQUA Winery and Rex's Seafood in Dallas. It retails at the winery for $19.95.
2006 FUQUA Merlot, Vat No. 6 Our 2006 Merlot is a rich, full bodied, Merlot made from grapes from the Central Coast of California near Paso Robles. It is on the richer side of most Merlot based wines from an addition of Syrah and Cabernet Sauvignon. It offers hints of blackberry, plum, boysenberry and cassis. It has a full, rich feeling on the pallet and finishes with a long and persistent finish. This Merlot can go with poultry, red meat, pork, pastas and salads.
Silver Medal - 2010 Finger Lakes International Wine Competition, New York It is in stock and available at the FUQUA Winery and Rex's Seafood in Dallas. It retails at the winery for $26.95.
The 2006 Zinfandel is made from grapes from Napa Valley. It offers a plummy and intense nose of raspberry, blackberry, cherry, cedar and oaky vanilla. Foods to pair with Zinfandel include sausage, beef, lamb, pork and venison, either braised, grilled or roasted. The lower tannin in this wine can accommodate some heat from chiles, so ribs with a spicy barbecue sauce are considered almost a classic match. Other ingredients that enhance Zinfandel are tomatoes, eggplant, mushrooms and olives. - 2010 Finger Lakes International Wine Competition, New York It is in stock and available at the FUQUA Winery and Rex's Seafood in Dallas. It retails at the winery for $21.95.
