FUQUA 2009 Grenache, Vat No. 18

 

FUQUA Winery proudly presents this racy red wine. With an elegant complexity, it has a rich bouquet of tobacco, cranberry, currant and lavender with spicy and herbal undertones. This well-balanced blend has a fresh acidity with intense, yet supple tannins. Apart from typical pairings, this Meritage blend would complement duck, lamb, pheasant or your favorite Italian dish.

 

Consisting of 100% Grenache, this red wine achieves its full potential under the watchful guidance of award-winning winemaker Lee Foster Fuqua.

FUQUA 2011 Zinfandel, Vat No. 19

Bronze Medal Winner at the 2013 Finger Lakes International Wine Competition

This wine was made from hand harvested fruit at the Fuqua Winery facility in Dallas, Texas, by award winning winemaker Lee Foster Fuqua.  The grapes came from Lodi AVA in California.  Combine Lodi’s famous old vines with a cool growing season and you’ve got the perfect storm for world-class Zinfandel.  Everything about this wine suggests grilling at its finest: from an almost meaty chewiness to a Knob Creek bourbon roastedness, beginning with aromas of rich blackberries, figs, orange blossoms, bacon, and, perhaps, mint.  And, taking a decidedly un-jammy turn in the glass, we find velvety and mouth-caressing pure, fresh and intense, tart juicy cherries right off the tree, bathed in pleasing acidity and fine, dusty tannins that soften within a couple of hours.  There’s underlying tobacco, bacon and violets, finishing off with the skin of ripe plums, spicy black licorice and a swirl of blackberry yogurt.  Pair with some savory Chinese spareribs.

FUQUA 2008 Petite Sirah, Vat No. 20

This Petite Sirah is deeply inky, this wine coats the glass and lingers before the first sip has been taken. Heady aromas of boysenberries and blackberries headline the entry, while flavors of wild blueberries steal the show. Full-bodied and concentrated, seductive juniper and anise tangle with coffee and leather tones as the wine’s finish lingers on stage. Enduring and enthralling, this wine is perfectly suited for an encore.
